Figure Out Which Questions Are Important For CBSE 12th Class Chemistry Board Exam

Now when you have successfully downloaded the pdf files of chemistry last 10 years exam, it’s totally up to you how well you do your research, and dig the best out of them. If you need some extra tips to score more than 90% in your board exams then simply click on the link given.

Here’s a tip for you: mark or note the question that you see in most of the question papers and also the way they are asked. This way you will not only be able to spot the important questions but also the pattern in which they are asked.

A question can be asked in a lot of ways, but CBSE usually asks them in few particular ways, and if you could figure them out then it will be great for you, as your chances of scoring maximum marks will increase.

You should also know that each year there will be many questions that are going to be different, new or those which you won’t find in any other paper, but you should not get confused, and keep looking for the questions that are asked commonly in every exam.

Running Out of Time? Here Are Some Tips For You

So now you have the previous 10 years question papers and also the tips on how to do research on them. Now it’s time for important tips to prepare the whole chemistry syllabus.

The first thing I would like to advise you is that, if you think the syllabus is too big to cover or if somehow you lagged behind, then look for those topics only which carry more marks and have a greater probability to come in the exam.

For that, you will need to check your weightage table for chemistry (as described by CBSE).

Organic Chemistry – No Numerical

If physical chemistry is your weak point then I suggest you focus more on organic and inorganic chemistry, because organic and inorganic chemistry is totally conceptual based, and you will not have to face any numerical.

Inorganic chemistry is considered the most scoring part of chemistry, and if you are well prepared then you can squeeze maximum marks from this part which can cover up for the numerical part.

And FYI (for your information) the organic chemistry will hold 18 marks, and 18 is not small.

Big Fish and Small Fish

Another most scoring topics of 12th chemistry are p and d block elements, these chapters carry 13 marks, and the good news is that numerical will not interfere with you in these chapters, and if you have a conceptual mind then these two topics are worth investing in your time on.

Do not forget to prepare the last three chapters, as they will prove to be the bonus marks for you. They are the ones that you can prepare easily and can bring the best out of them, especially the last one “chemistry in everyday life”. So do prepare well for them.

NCERT Book = 80%

As far as Physical chemistry is concerned then it will be great if you could cover maximum numerical, but since numerical are headaches for you, therefore, try to pick only those topics which have maximum possibilities of coming in the exam.

Students often make the common mistake of preferring the books other than NCERT, but as per our research team, almost 80% of the questions are asked from the NCERT book. Therefore, we suggest that students prepare the 12th NCERT book before jumping to other books.

Finally, if it’s too late and you are running out of time, then do not even put your hands on numerical.

What To Do On The Day Of Exam?

You need to deliver your best on the day of the exam because this is the day for which you have been preparing the whole year. Just try to keep the following points in your mind while giving the exam.

First of all, go through the question paper with great concentration, as it may be possible that you find the answers to a few questions just by reading the question paper.

Once you read the question paper, pick out the question that you can answer the best.

Next, attempt the 5 marks question first as they carry the maximum marks, and at the beginning, you have a fresh mind and fresh writing, so you can score great marks with these questions.

Try to explain the long answers via a diagram too. And before you start answering the long questions, make a proper structure of the answer in your mind.

Try to divide your answer into points as they give a clear and point to point idea to the examiner of what you want to write.

Do not waste time on writing the long answers to short questions.

Finally, go through your answer sheet at least once to make sure you answered each and every question properly. And if you still got time then try to attempt a question that you do not know well.

  5. mam my school is not taking my cbse class 12 project. What to do?

    1. Hell Rupam,
If there is nothing wrong with your project, and you have a clean record, then there is no way your school will refuse to take your project. If it is so, then you can complain to CBSE directly. Just look for the process to do so. But, for that you need to be clean from your side, if there is something wrong from your end, then it will be for the best to resolve this issue via discussion. Just ask your parents or others to talk to your school authorities.

  6. Hello sir. I want to score high marks but my problem is that I forget everything that I have read during examination. Please guide me.

    1. Hi Yash.
It is a very common problem among students. You have to understand that you are unable to remember what you study in the examination hall because of two reasons, first is that while studying you are not fully focused and second is you don’t revise. So, what you need to do is even if you are studying for only 2-3 hours you have to keep yourself away from any kind of distraction like mobile, tv etc and just concentrate on your studies. Next and most important thing is to do revision in regular interval of time. While studying write down all the important topics and formulas. Do regular study if you aim to score good marks. Keep on doing the hard work.

    1. Prof. Divyanshi Sharma

      Hi Kiran.
Be calm first of all. We understand that you are in a great tension because of your board exams. But this is not the time of getting hyper. You have to be patient. If you are not able to do proper revision because of time shortage, so set a time table for yourself. Be completely dedicated towards your studies and we also recommend you to practice from sample papers and previous year question papers, and just keep on revising thoroughly. You will definitely get good marks.

    1. Prof. Divyanshi Sharma

      Hi Shagun.
As your exams are going to commence very soon, so we recommend you to practice from sample papers and previous year question papers.

    1. Prof. Divyanshi Sharma

      Hi Sijal.
Yes SL Arora is a nice book. But as we know that soon your board exams will be commencing, so rather than studying from the book, keep on practicing questions from sample papers and previous year question papers.

  23. in phy which book is best ncert or pradeep

    1. Prof. Divyanshi Sharma

      Hi Piyush.
Although Pradeep reference book is really good. But we would recommend you to first concentrate on your NCERT book, then go for some other book.

I was not able to understand your question, please be more specific.

  26. Hello sir,
Only 3 months are remaining for cbse 12th board exam and i have no proper notes for pcm . I have read ncert only once.what should i do to score better ?suggest me a proper time table.

    1. Prof. Divyanshi Sharma

Hi Sanjeev. This is very good that you have already studied from the NCERT book. But, it seems that still you are not well prepared for the exams.
As you are asking me for the time table. I would suggest you the formula of early mornings and late nights. These two timings are the best to study.

Keep 2 hours for Chemistry in morning time. As this is the time when you are fresh and your mind is full of new ideas. After that, take a short break and do your favorite work in this time. I would recommend you a short walk or some exercise.

Now, move towards some extra subject, either it is computer, Hindi or whatever you have. Give one hour to it.

Keep 2 hours of evening time for the Physics subject and practice Maths at late night when there is all silence everywhere.

There are only 3 months left and thus you need to avoid distractions. Anything like partying, chatting, get togethers, etc. must be a ‘no-no’ thing.

    1. Prof. Rajeev Mehra

      Hello! Prithwiraj,
For now, i will have to reply no to you, because the solved papers are not ready yet. But we are trying our best to upload them as soon as possible.

  35. Sir,
i am not able to solve physical chemistry numericals, so can you give me tips, how to solve step by step?

    1. Hello Smit,
There are no specific steps to solve numerical, as they are different every time.
But it’s a rule in chemistry that, if a numerical is of 3 marks, and you just write the formula then you will at least get 1 marks for it.
So, if you are not able to solve a numerical then try to write all the formulas that will be used in solving that numerical.
And i am sure that you are smart enough to put values in the formula. Try to extend your steps for solution.
