SSC Constable GD Exam Syllabus, Topics & Exam Pattern

The Constable GD exam undergoes four major phases:

  1. Computer-Based Examination(CBE)
  2. Physical Efficiency Test(PET)
  3. Physical Standard Test(PST)
  4. Detailed Medical Examination(DME)

Computer-Based Examination(CBE) will be conducted by the Staff Selection Commission. And the exam will be held in English & Hindi Only. After CBE, PET/PST and DME/RME will be scheduled and conducted by the CAPFs(Central Armed Police Forces). SSC Constable GD Exam Syllabus, Topics & Exam Pattern

The eligible candidates will appear in the Computer Based Examination (CBE). The Computer Based Examination will consist of One Question Paper consisting of objective-type questions (Multiple Choice Questions). The question paper will consist of four Parts and each part consists of 25 questions, and each part carries 25 marks. In this way, the question paper contains 100 questions and carries 100 marks and the duration(time allowed) for the exam is one and a half hours i.e., 90 minutes. SSC GD Syllabus 2022: Computer Based Examination

The syllabus of Computer Based Examination(CBE) will cover four subjects and each subject is consists of 25 questions and each subject carrying 25 marks. The questions in all parts will be of matriculation level. Give below are the subjects and their important topics for Constable GD Exam.

Part A: General Intelligence & Reasoning:

This part of the question paper includes logical questions, aptitude based questions, reasoning type questions, analytical aptitude, non-verbal type (ability to observe and distinguish patterns). Generally, questions are from Mathematics and English. Candidates should focus on this part because this part of the question paper is scoring & difficult too. The Most Important Topics in this Part of General Intelligence & Reasoning are:

Part B: General Knowledge and General Awareness:

The main objective of this part of the question paper is to check the candidate’s current affairs, general knowledge, and general awareness of various general topics. Also, this part will include questions related to India and other countries in different fields given below. This part of the question paper is the scoring part for candidates but this requires a lot of studies. The Most Important Topics in this part of General Knowledge are:

Part C: Elementary Mathematics:

The objective of this part is to test the candidate’s ability to solve mathematical problems on general topics. This part is the best part for scoring 25 out of 25. The questions are generally Class 10th level and candidates can score full marks on this part but again this part needs practice since the only way to do maths is practice. Part D: English/Hindi:

After the Computer Based Examination, candidates who clear the exam will be shortlisted for PET/PST by the commission. Candidates note that the PET and PST will be conducted at various centers finalized by the CAPFs.

On clearing PET and PST candidates will be shortlisted for Detailed Medical Examination(DME) and medically examined by the Boards of Medical constituted by the CAPFs. Also note that in this phase of DME, documents/certificates will be verified.
