SSC Constable GD Eligibility 2024 – Age Limit, Race, Height, Physical & Medical Qualification

Nationality (Citizenship)
Candidates who are applying for Constable GD must be citizens of India. Candidates should know that the vacancies are state/UT wise for CAPFs posts(BSF, CISF, CRPF, SSB, ITBP, AR). So the candidates must submit their domicile/Permanent Residential Certificate(PRC) of his/her state or Union Territory(UT).

SSC Constable GD Bharti 2024 Age Limit Criteria:

• Only those candidates who are born between 02-01-2001 to 01-01-2006 can apply for this year bharti .
• A candidate’s age should be between 18-23. Click here to see age relaxation for SSC GD.
• Candidates who are applying can check their age qualifications mentioned in the official notification that will be released by SSC.
• Candidates who were born earlier than or later than the dates which are mentioned in the notification are not eligible to apply. However, there is age relaxation in the upper age limit for different categories and communities.

SSC Constable GD Eligibility – GD Bharti 2024 Education Qualification

• The minimum educational qualification for candidates is matriculation or 10th class passed from any recognized Board or University.
• Candidates who are waiting for the result or who have not acquired the required educational qualification, such candidates are clearly not eligible.
• Candidates should prepare all necessary certificates/documents describing the following: date of birth(Age), education, domicile, caste, hill areas, and any category for age relaxation, NOC(No Objection Certificate), Discharge Certificate(only in the case of ex-servicemen or any other government employee).
• Documents/certificates should be Original as well as self-attested copies of each document/certificate which will be examined and verified at the time of DME(Detailed Medical Examination).
• Candidates should keep in mind that only the DOB(Date of Birth) and Name as mentioned in the Matriculation/Secondary Examination pass certificate (or equivalent) will be accepted by the Staff Selection Commission for determining and verifying the date of birth(age) and Name.
• The candidates who will be able to prove that the result of the required educational qualification(matriculation) was declared on or before the date (1st August – this date will change) by documentary/certificate evidence and declared passed, only those candidates will be considered as qualified to apply for SSC constable GD post.

SSC Constable GD Bharti 2024 Physical Qualification (For Male & Female)

After the Computer Based Examination(CBE), The Physical qualification will be examined at PET(Physics Eligibility Test) and PST(Physical Standard Test), the height standard measures will be examined, and candidates who pass the height & chest parameters will undergo Physical Efficiency Test(PET) also known as race.

Important notes related to PET/PST:

1. Pregnant Females are not allowed in the PET, as they will be rejected at this stage.
2. For the candidates who are Ex-servicemen and those who will be selected in the Computer Based Examination (CBE), the Physical Efficiency Test will not be held for them. However, they will have to appear in PET/PST phase to verify only height, chest, and weight measurements according to the standards. Qualifying candidates further will go under the Detailed Medical Examination(DME).

Important notes related to PST(Physical Standard Test) :

1. The Weight for both male and female candidates will be measured according to the medical standards using the concept of proportion with height and age.
2. Female candidates will not undergo chest measurements. However, the candidate’s chest must be well-developed.
3. Candidates who want to get relaxation in height and chest as mentioned above in the table, have to bring certificates from the competent authorities at the time of PET/PST in the exact format prescribed in Annexure-VII of the official notice of SSC Constable GD.

SSC Constable GD Age Relaxation Criteria

The Age relaxation is only for the upper age limit for SC(Scheduled Caste), ST(Scheduled Tribe), OBC(Other Backward Caste), Ex-Servicemen, and other categories(mentioned in the official notification).

Candidates who are eligible for age relaxation must submit the required certificate to prove their caste or category. The certificates should be signed by the competent authority in the exact format as prescribed by the commission. Important Notes for Age Relaxation

1. Candidates who are Ex-servicemen and who already have got employment in the Civil section in the Group ‘C’ posts under Central government on the regular basis, as they got the benefits of reservation, therefore, those candidates are not eligible for a fee concession or claiming benefits of reservation. But, they are eligible for age relaxation.
2. For candidates who are Ex-servicemen, the “Call up Service” period of those candidates in the Indian Armed Forces shall also be marked as service rendered in the Armed forces for the purpose of Age relaxation.
3. This is an important note for the Candidates who served in the three Armed Forces of the Union they will be treated as Ex-servicemen. They should prepare the documentary evidence from the competent authority to get details as a term of engagement with the Armed forces, and the status of ex-serviceman. And they have to submit within the period of accurately one year from the CLOSING DATE of the application form.
4. The candidate should note that Age relaxation/ reservation is not admissible to sons, daughters, or dependents, or Ex-Servicemen. Hence, such candidates shouldn’t mention their category as Ex-servicemen.

SSC Constable GD Bharti Medical Qualification & Eligibility Criteria

After Qualifying CBE, PET/PST, the shortlisted candidates will undergo the Detailed Medical Examination (DME). The Document/certificate verification process will be done in this stage. After Document/certificate verification the selected candidates will be medically examined by the medical boards.

General Medical Guidelines

1. The final weight examination will be decided by the medical boards at the time of the medical examination according to the height and age rules.
2. In the Medical Examination, X-ray, Haemoglobin test, and Urine(routine/microscopic) test will be essential and must be done for all the shortlisted candidates.
3. For all Female Candidates, “Temporary Unfitness” will not be allowed in the medical examination
   However, In case during the medical examination, any female candidate is found ‘pregnant for twelve weeks or more, she will be marked as “temporarily unfit” and a medical examination will be held again six weeks after the pregnancy is over,

Eligibility Criteria For Tattoo (Permissibility of Tattoo)

Tattoo is a major issue in government exams. So candidates must be aware of the policies on the permissibility of the Tattoo.

1. The content of the Tattoo: Tatto which is related to the religious symbol or figure and the name, only those tattoos will be accepted.
2. Location of Tattoo in the body: Tattoos marked on specific sites such as the inner forearm, but only the left forearm, being a nonsaluting limb or dorsum of the hand will be accepted.
3. Size of the Tatto: The size of the Tatto must be less than 1/4th(25%) of that particular part(Elbow or Hand) of the body.

Important Notes on SSC GD Qualification & Eligibility

• Any surgery done between the DME(Detailed Medical Examination) and RME(Review Medical Examination) period for correcting the unfitness measures will not be accepted and be considered as ‘unfit’ and the candidate will be rejected.
