# Job Profile Of Assistant Sub-Inspector In CISF 

The ASI’s in CISF are the backbone of the force as they play the role of moderator between the team in the field and the control room. CISF is no longer a PSU-centric organisation.

The main duties of ASI’s in CISF includes airport security, industrial security, search operations, power of seizure and clerical duties.

  • Airport Security: the ASI’s are there to provide the security to the airports that connect various parts within the country as well as outside the country.
  • Industrial Security: ASI’s are generally posted in these areas to provide security services to the public sector industrial locations.
  • Search Operation: ASI’s can carry out search operations to search the suspect when they get the orders from their higher officers.
  • Power of Seizure: ASI’s have the authority to search and seize anything that is illegal and take the suspect in custody who is in possession of it.
  • Clerical Duties: although the work of ASI includes field work, but there are opportunities for being in a desk job as well.

SSC CPO SI/ASI Promotion And Career Progression

Who does not like to get promoted in their field of work? but when you have joined armed forces such as Delhi Police, BSF, CISF etc. then you must understand that there is certain promotion order and years of service that you have give to get promoted to higher post.

There are regular promotions you will get after the joining over the time. Promotions mainly depends on the career record of the person.

Once the aspirant of SSC CPO exam joins Delhi Police as Sub-Inspector he will get his first promotion usually after 15-18 years to the post of Inspector. Your next promotion of ACP can take 12-15 years thereafter. But there are number of factors on which the promotion depends like number of vacancies, your work profile etc.

If we talk about Sub-Inspector promotion in CAPF, then there are different criteria for all the forces included, like in BSF there are promotion examination that you have to clear in order to get promoted.

In CISF at the post of Assistant Sub-Inspector, it can take basically 5 years of continuous service to get promoted to the rank of Inspector. But the chances are few as the promotional exercises are carried out on the basis of zonal security.

So, mostly it takes 7-8 years for the first promotion.  Departmental exams and seniority factor comes into play for promotion.

      If you satisfy all the criteria, then you can apply for CPO. But for that you will first have to resign from the current post.
