The Staff Selection Commission is all set to conduct the national level SSC CGL exam in the month of August. This year more than 30 Lakh of students have enrolled for this exam. The window for accepting on-line applications for the said examination will be announced soon. From the given status one can easily guess both the difficulty and competition level. SSC conducts the CGL exam for grade B and grade C post. The exam is held in four stages called Tier-I, Tier-II, Tier-III, and Tier-IV. The first two Tiers are computer-based online exams while Tier-III and Tier-IV are offline examinations.

After the SSC CGL exam Tier-I, all candidates wait for the answer key, so that, they can calculate their approximate marks and expected ranks in the Tier-I exam. All the candidates must know that SSC only releases the answer key for computer-based online tests i.e Tier-I and Tier-II. The answer key of all the sets A, B, C, and D and for all the shifts will be available after the successful completion of the exam. Tier-I is to be conducted in the month of August. The answer key will be published through a login, which the candidates will be able to access by submitting the User ID and Password.

Important Dates For SSC CGL Answer Key 2022

The SSC CGL answer key is released by both the unofficial and official authorities. The unofficial answer key which is memory-based is published by the private institutes. Candidates will be able to avail themselves of the unofficial CGL answer key a few hours after the exam. Whereas the official answer key will be released by the staff selection commission on its official website after a few days of the examination.

The SSC CGL answer key will be available online only. Just like the admit cards are released Tier wise so is the answer key. The first answer key of Tier-I will be released after the completion of the Tier-I exam and the second answer key will be released after the Tier-II exam. And in case any candidate has doubt with regards to the answers in the SSC CGL answer key, s/he can submit their representations online. The commission after examining the representations releases the final result of the Tier-I exam.

How To Download SSC CGL Answer Key

Aspirants can download the official answer key from the official website of SSC. The procedure to download the SSC CGL  answer key is explained below:

  1. Candidates need to log on to the official website of SSC which is ssc.nic.in.
  2. On the top of the home page there is an answer key button, click on it.
  3. Look for the SSC CGL Tier-I answer key and open it.
  4. A new page will open where you will have to enter your roll number, password(DOB) in the designated column.
  5. Click on the submit button after entering all the details.
  6. The answer key of SSC CGL will appear on the screen.
  7. Download the answer key and also your OMR sheet so you can match your answers.

Note: The commission also releases the OMR sheet along with the answer key so that candidates can match their answers with the answer key. The SSC CGL OMR sheet will be released for both tiers. The OMR sheet contains the images of the answers to the questions that are marked in the exam.

How to Challenge The Answer Key?

Yes, you heard it right. Candidates have the opportunity to challenge the answer key released by the staff selection commission. The challenge can be submitted through the login. But all the candidates must keep in mind that the window to submit the challenges with regard to the answer key of Tier-I and Tier-II will be available only for a certain period of time.

Candidates who have any kinds of doubts about the answer key can raise objections. Everyone will have to follow a certain procedure, first, the aspirant will have to log in using their ID and password provided at the time of registration. However, the candidates will have to submit the proof for the challenge online and they will have to pay Rs 100 per answer. Here are the simple steps that you need to follow to submit challenges.

  • Of course, you will have to log in to the official website.
  • Click on the ‘Notice with regards to the challenges for SSC CGL Tier-I and log in using your User ID and Password.
  • Mark the questions for which you want to submit the challenge.
  • Pay the requisite fee and submit.

The staff selection commission has provided this opportunity for the candidates to maintain transparency in the examination system. Make sure that you submit your representations in the given time period because the representations received after the due date will not be accepted.

#How To Calculate The Scores Through Answer Key

After the SSC CGL Tier-I answer key will be released all the candidates will have to cross-check their answers with it. Then, according to the marking scheme, every correct answer is 2 marks while there are 0.5 marks of negative marking. You can calculate your scores this way:

Total Marks Obtain= (Number of correct answer × 2) – (Number of incorrect answers × 0.5)

  1. Hello mam. I can’t see the tentative answer key for cgl in SSC website then how can I check my answers through answer key. Please help me.

      Staff selection commission uploaded the tentative answer key on 7th of this month and the last date to submit the representation was 12th of this month after that SSC must have removed the answer key from the website so now you cannot find the answer key. But there is nothing to worry as the result is to released next month. At present all you can do is wait for the result now.

      SSC had released the tentative answer key of CGL Tier I exam. You might not be able to see the answer key anymore because the last date to challenge the application process and to submit representation is over. At present the result have not been released.

  3. Sir actually meri answer key mai bht se questions un-attempted dikhaa rhaaa hai. Kya krun mein or mjhe yaad h ki mein krkee aaya tha or yeh sb whi questions hai jinko maine tag kiya tha or sb ke sb un-attempted dikhaa rha hai.

      As, you have mentioned that you are not satisfied with your answer key then you can challenge the SSC CGL answer key. In the above post we have mentioned all the steps regarding that. But make sure that to submit representations, if any, from 07.09.2017 (5.00 P.M.) to 12.09.2017 (5.00 P.M.) through on-line method only, on payment of Rs.100/- per answer. Representation received after the due date will not be entertained under any circumstances.

      At present Staff Selection Commission have not released the answer key. According to the notification by SSC the official answer key will be available on 18.09.17. But as soon as the unofficial answer key will be available we will upload it in our website. You are requested to keep yourself updated through our website.

  5. Hi. I want to know what is SSC cut off merit?

      Cut off marks are the minimum number of marks that are set by SSC and candidates who score above cutoff marks are considered pass and can proceed for next level. Merit list consist the names/roll number of all the candidates who qualify the exam.
