Railway Protection Force RPF Eligibility Criteria – Constable & Sub Inspector

IMPORTANT NOTES for RPF Constable & Sub Inspector Eligibility Criteria

  • If a candidate is eligible for more than one age relaxation criteria, in this case, the candidate would be accorded the highest of the age relaxations for which the candidate is eligible.
  • For Example, if a candidate is in the SC category so for him the age relaxation is 5 years. But he also comes in the category of Ex-servicemen and according to the ex-servicemen category, his age relaxation should be 8 years. In this case the highest age relaxation i.e., 8 years will be given to the candidate.
  • Age relaxation is not allowed to any category such as SC/ST/OBC-Non-creamy Layer(NCL) if candidates applying against unreserved vacancies.

RPF Constable Eligibility 2023 – Age, Height

The candidates who are applying for RPF constable and RPSF, first they must check the eligibility. As the eligibility tells that a candidate is eligible for the post or not. The Railway Protection Force for the post of Constable, the eligibility of Candidates includes educational qualification and category wise physical measurements & age relaxation for different category & community. Also, check the Age criteria and Date of Birth.

Nationality: A Candidate should have Indian citizenship certificate i.e., Candidate must be an Indian citizen.

RPF Constable Educational Qualification

For Constable (Executive) in RPF, a candidate should have pass SSLC(Secondary School i.e., 12TH Pass)/ Matric from any recognized Board(affiliated from state or central government).

Note: According to the official notice by the RPF notification, those candidates who are waiting for results of the final exam are not eligible. Those candidates who are clearly passed the matriculation or secondary school, only those can apply.

RPF Constable Age Limit

Minimum age to apply for this post of constable is 18 and Maximum age is 25. In other words, a candidate should have age between 18 and 25. Date of birth according to the 10TH/12th (Matriculation) or equivalent certificate will be acceptable.

RPF Constable Physical Qualification

According to the official RPF official notification, there are three categories. Each category is further categorized in Male and Female. Given below is the table for Physical measurement :

RPF Constable Age Relaxation

SC/ST (Scheduled Castes/Scheduled Tribes) Candidates: The age relaxation for SC/ST candidates is 5 years i.e., the age relaxation is permissible beyond the upper age limit which is 25years. Hence for SC/ST candidates the upper age limit is 30years.

OBC(Other Backward Class) – Non-Creamy Layer candidates: Candidates which come under this category should note that this age relaxation is only for the Non-creamy layer candidate.
The term ‘creamy layer’ is used for wealthier and better-educated members. Non-creamy layer candidates are those who are not wealthier and did not get a better education.
The age relaxation for those Non-creamy layer candidates is 3years. Hence the upper age limit for those candidates is 28 years.

Ex-servicemen: Those candidates who continuously work for 6 months or more after attestation.

  • Armed Forces and UR (Unreserved category): the age relaxation is 3 years i.e., the upper(max) age limit is 28 years.
  • Armed Forces and OBC-Non-creamy Layer: the age relaxation is 6 years i.e., the upper(max) age limit is 31 years.
  • Armed forces and SC/ST: the age relaxation is 8 years i.e., the upper(max) age limit is 33 years.

Jammu & Kashmir Candidates: candidates of Jammu & Kashmir who had ordinarily been domiciled in the State between the period of 1st January 1980 to 31st December 1989.

  • For UR(Unreserved) candidates the relaxation age is 5 years i.e., the upper(max) age limit is 30years.
  • For OBC-Non-creamy layer candidates, the relaxation age is 8 years i.e., the upper(max) age limit is 33 years.
  • For SC/ST candidate the relaxation age is 10 years i.e., the upper(max) age limit is 35 years.

Central Government Employees: Except for ex-servicemen, candidates who have regular & continuous service not less than 3 years.

  • For UR(Unreserved) candidates the relaxation age is 5 years i.e., the upper(max) age limit is 30years.
  • For OBC-Non-creamy layer candidates, the relaxation age is 8 years i.e., the upper(max) age limit is 33 years.
  • For SC/ST candidates the relaxation age is 10 years. i.e., the upper(max) age limit is 35 years.

Widows, divorced women, and women (remarried after judicially separated from husband):

  • For UR(Unreserved) candidates the relaxation age is 2 years. so the upper(max) limit age is 27 years.
  • For OBC-Non-creamy layer candidates, the relaxation age is 5 years i.e., the upper(max) age limit is 30 years.
  • For SC/ST candidates the relaxation age is 7 years. So the upper(max) age limit is 32years.

Railway Protection Force RPF SI Eligibility – Sub Inspector

For the post of RPF sub inspector, a candidate must be a citizen of India. Here is the brief information of RPF SI eligibility criteria such as educational qualification, age lime (date of birth criteria), physical standards such as height and chest, and age relaxation category wise. The RPF SI eligibility criteria given below is for both male and female candidates.

RPF SI Educational Qualification 

For the post of Sub Inspector(Executive), Graduation(degree) from any recognized University.
Graduation degree from any recognized university shall only be valid. But those candidates who are appearing or waiting for results of graduation, clearly are not eligible.

RPF SI Age Limit

The age limit for RPF Sub Inspector is 20 years to 25 years. This means the lower (Minimum) age is 20 years and the upper(max) age is 25 years. Date of Birth from 10TH or matriculation certificate alone will be acceptable. Here is a complete table for date of birth category wise including lower and upper limit.

RPF SI Age relaxation

SC/ST Candidates: For SC/ST candidates who are going to apply for RPF SI post, the age relaxation is 5 years i.e., the upper(max) age limit is 30years.

OBC-Non Creamy Layer candidates: For OBC-Non-creamy layer candidates the age relaxation is 3 years i.e., the upper(max) age limit is 28years.

Ex-servicemen: Ex-servicemen candidates should have at least 6 months of continuous service after attestation.

  • For UR(Unreserved) Ex-servicemen candidates, the age relaxation is (to the extent of service rendered in Armed Force + 3 years) + 25 years.
  • For OBC-Non-creamy Layer Ex-servicemen candidates, the age relaxation is (to the extent of service rendered in Armed Force + 6 years) + 25 years.
  • For SC/ST Ex-servicemen candidates, the age relaxation is (to the extent of service rendered in Armed Force + 8 years) + 25 years.

Jammu & Kashmir Candidates:  Candidates who had ordinarily been domiciled in Jammu & Kashmir (J&K) State between the duration of 1st Jan 1980 to 31st Dec 1989.

  • For UR(Unreserved) candidates: 5 years i.e., the upper(max) age limit is 30 years.
  • For OBC-Non-creamy layer candidates: 8 years i.e., the upper(max) age limit is 33 years.
  • For SC/ST candidates: 10 years i.e., the upper(max) age limit is 35 years.

Central Govt. Employees Other than Ex-servicemen: Candidates who were central government employee except for Ex-servicemen and did regular & continuous service of 3 years or more.

  • For UR candidates: 5 years i.e., the upper(max) age limit is 30 years.
  • For OBC-Non-creamy layer candidates: 8 years i.e., the upper(max) age limit is 33 years.
  • For SC/ST candidates: 10 years i.e., the upper(max) age limit is 35 years.

Widows, divorced women: Candidate(Female) who are widows, divorced and judicially separated and remarries.

  • For UR(Unreserved) candidates: 2 years i.e., the upper(max) age limit is 27 years.
  • For OBC-Non-creamy layer candidates: 5 years i.e., the upper(max) age limit is 30 years.
  • For SC/ST candidates: 7 years i.e., the upper(max) age limit is 32 years.
