Indeed! It’s not easy to get a good All India Rank (AIR) of JEE Main. As the JEE Main exam is considered one of the toughest exams around the globe. But while reading this line and quieting before the entrance exam, doesn’t make any sense, does it?

JEE Main Result

Students get very restless after appearing in the exam, they get very anxious and curious to know what will be the result? Will they qualify or not? If yes, then what will be the rank? Will they manage to get the top ranks? Whether they can make it to JEE Advance exam or not?

Hold on and take a deep breath!

CBSE issues the answer key after completion of the exam. JEE Main answer key, holds the correct answers to each and every question asked in the exam. From this answer key, you can calculate your marks and can start preparing for the next level of the JEE exam, which is the JEE Advanced.

The result of JEE Main, issued by the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE). Result of Paper I and Paper II is published on different dates and from the result, candidates can check their respective All India Rank (category wise), sectional marks. Have a look at important dates and mark them on your calendar:

The All India Rank (AIR) and the scorecard will be published along with the JEE Main results. The result will make clear your vision like can you get admission in NIT, IIIT & other CFIT, or go for JEE Advance exam to take admission in IITs.

After JEE Main results, students can go for two ways:

  • First, If a candidate is scoring within 2,24,000 ranks, can go for the JEE Advanced examination which is going to be conducted in June. Only Paper I applicants can go for JEE Advance exam.
  • Second, applicants can get admission according to their choice of branches in Institutions, as per their All India Rank.

CBSE’s role in JEE Main examination is limited to the notification, conducting exams,s and providing answer key, result, and merit list. After the declaration of the result, CBSE transfer the data to the seat allocation board or other state government institutions for seat allocation and further admission procedure.

JEE Main Scorecard

Scorecard holds the candidate’s personal details, subject wise marks, cut off marks (category wise), and AIR of the JEE Main exam. Here are the details to understand the elements of the JEE Main scorecard:

Candidates Roll number: roll number, which is a unique identification number for JEE Main exam, allotted by CBSE.

Personal Details: It includes the candidate’s father, mother name, and candidate’s category, nationality, and state code of eligibility.

Qualifying Exam: It shows the marks of a paper holding different subjects. It will be calculated on the basis of correct and incorrect answers.

Rank List: It includes the All India Rank for JEE Main calculated on the basis of the merit list.

Note: Candidates need to keep their scorecard safe until the admissions over.
After getting the scorecards, candidates need to go for counseling sessions as per their choice of colleges.

What’s New in JEE Main 2023 Result?

JEE Main has come with some changes in the procedure. Have a look:

The marks of class 12th will not be calculated in JEE Main examination.

Students have to score at least 75% marks (general category) or be in the top 20 percentile and 65% marks (SC/ST), in the 12th class.

The compulsion of the Aadhaar card.

This time, IIT Kanpur will conduct the JEE Advance examination to give admission to a total of 12,000 (approx) seats in 23 IITs.

Note: As the marks are not calculated in the JEE Main exam, the verification of the 12th class roll number will not be done this year by CBSE. But candidates have to show their mark sheet (regular or improvement) to the reporting centers at the time of admission.

How To Check JEE Main 2023 Result

JEE Main result will be available online on the official website. CBSE will announce the result of Paper I & II in 1st week of March. The result of JEE Main holds the actual marks scored in the exam along with the status of candidates who are going to appear in the JEE Advanced examination. The result will be displayed category wise and is different for both the papers.

For downloading the result/scorecard/rank list, you should follow the steps explained below:

  • Visit the official website of JEE Main (www.jeemain.nic.in).
  • At the bottom of the JEE Main homepage, you will find a link to “Result Joint Entrance Examination (Main) – With Rank”.
  • After clicking the link, candidates will be redirected to the result page (www.cbseresults.nic.in) of CBSE.
  • On that window, candidates find a link of JEE Main results for both paper 1 and paper 2 on the result day.
  • A new window will open by clicking the link. Candidates need to enter their JEE Main roll number and date of birth as mentioned in the application form.
  • After entering the details, click on the Submit button.
  • After submitting successfully, now candidates can see their JEE Main scores, AIR, qualifying status for the JEE Advance exam.
  • You can also download your scorecard from the result window. Use the download button, print it, and keep it safe for future use.

Points to Remember

Candidates must download the scorecards from the official website of CBSE. Scorecards will not be sent by SMS, e-mail, or postal address. At the time of counseling and admission procedure, candidates must carry their scorecards with them.

The JEE Main result will carry the following details of candidates:

  • Name
  • Roll Number
  • Date of Birth
  • Father’s and Mother’s name
  • Category
  • Nationality
  • State Code
  • Marks of each subject and total marks
  • All India Rank (AIR)
  • Category rank
  • Cutoff marks (category wise)
  • JEE Advance qualifying status

JEE Main 2023 OMR Sheet

After publishing the answer key, CBSE will issue the scanned OMR Sheets for offline exams and record the response sheet for the online exams. The dates for downloading both (online and offline), starts from June 2023. OMR and recorded sheets will be available online when it will be issued by authorities.

It provides a copy of the answers which you attempted in the exam. While matching answers from OMR/recorded response sheet to the official answer key, you can calculate your marks as 4 marks for each correct answer and 1 mark for each incorrect answer. Based on this, candidates can get a rough idea of the total marks they scored in the JEE Main exam.

If a candidate, who is not satisfied by any answer marked by them in the OMR sheet with the official answer key, he/she can challenge the board for each wrong answer. For challenging JEE Main answer key, one must pay Rs 1000/- per question.

Candidates who applied for the online exam can get their respective answer sheets by registered mail IDs. They can also challenge the answer key but before you have to verify the sequence of questions and answers sent to them with the question paper available on the website.

Photocopy of OMR and Calculation Sheet

Candidates who are not satisfied with their result after matching the answer key can apply for a photocopy of OMR and calculation sheets before the last date. Candidates must submit a fee of Rs 500/- in the form of a demand draft (DD), along with the application.

Demand Draft should be sent in the favor of Secretary, CBSE payable at Delhi/New Delhi authorized by any scheduled bank. Candidates must write their JEE Main roll number and name on the backside of the demand draft.

Candidates must write an application form while mentioning the reason along with their roll number, name & address and send it along with the demand draft either by speed post or by hand to the given address:
