The Cluster of National Institute of Technology (NITs)

NITs are also a prestigious cluster of autonomous institutions which are governed by National Institute of Technologies Act. These are a coveted group of engineering institutes which students can rely on to pursue their B.Tech if they do not secure a place in any IIT.

Ranking wise, NIT Trichy has the topmost rank in the country. This is followed by NIT Surathkal and NIT Warangal respectively. Hence, all the IIT JEE (Mains and Advanced) top rank holders eye for these three coveted NITs first.

Once all the seats of these three top-ranked NITs get filled up, the rest of the students look for getting into rest of the NITs. According to NIRF (National Institutional Ranking Framework), NIT Trichy is holding 11th rank, NIT Surathkal is holding 12th rank and NIT Warangal is holding 22nd rank in India among all reputed cluster of engineering institutions in the country.

BITSAT Exam and Procedure of Getting into BITS

BITSAT is one specific entrance exam which is quite similar to IIT JEE by a pattern. This particular exam helps the students to get into BITS (Birla Institute of Technology and Science) engineering institution. Depending on their performance and associated ranks in the BITSAT exam, they can get into Pilani, Goa or Hyderabad campuses.

For the students, of course, Pilani is the best choice considering all the facilities and positive aspects available over there. BITS is loved by the general category students because they do not have any reservation policy for the scheduled caste, scheduled tribe, and other backward caste students. Hence, merit becomes the only parameter to get into BITS. No provision for caste-based reservation is available over here.

The students who do not have good rank in IIT JEE exam, or the students who are not willing to sit for IIT JEE exam, they can try for hitting BITSAT exam which is being held in the month of April every year. Once qualified, they would be starting their engineering journey in BITS successfully.

IISc Bangalore

Indian Institute of Science (IISc) is yet another most coveted place for the meritorious students for pursuing their bachelors in Engineering and Mathematics. IISc has their hallmark for Mathematics which is known worldwide.

They do not have their own entrance examination for intake of the students. They consider the admission of the students through their JEE ranks and NEET scores.

For integrated M.Tech degrees, they seek JAM and GATE scores and ranks. The students who love Mathematics and are IISc aspirants, they are advised to have a look at their website in the month of February every year, because their application invitations usually get featured in their site as well as in the newspapers at that time. Usually, 65 score out of 100 is the cutoff score for getting into IISc Bangalore.

IISER

Indian Institutes of Science Education and Research (IISER) is a premier group of both academic and research related excellence. IISER has its different branches in Berhampur (Orissa), Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh), Mohali, Pune (Maharashtra), Thiruvananthapuram and Tirupati respectively.

They also have an option to get a dual degree of BS and MS being done one after another. There are 200 seats allotted for that dual degree. The eligibility to get into this course has three different criteria. The first way is they can qualify KVPY (Kishore Vaigyanik Protsahan Yojana). Or, they should be an IITJEE qualifier. Or, they should have scored 1% in their state board examinations. Fulfilling any one of these three criteria will be fine.
