How To Apply For JEE Main Application Form

Approximately, more than 10 lakh applicants appear for the JEE entrance exam every year. It’s one of the hard-hitting competitions among students to secure top ranks, and you won’t even be in competition if you don’t apply right.

The Application procedure is divided into three steps – Application form, Upload Images, and Fee Payment. Here is a brief description of the steps:

# Application Form

Applicants must enter all valid details step by step while filling the application form, and need to set password and security questions with their answers. When you submit the application form, an application number will be generated so that you can finish the remaining stages by entering the application number and the password which you set earlier.

Before final submission, one must check if all the details are correct or not because once the form is submitted then making corrections is quite a challenging and time-consuming task.

Note

  • Your password must be 8 to 13 characters long and there must be at least one numeric value, one special character, one upper and lower case alphabet.
  • You can later change your password after logging in with your details (login id & password).
  • Always log out of your ID after using your account so that it cannot be modified by any unauthorized person.
  • You can also reset your account password by entering the question and its answer or by using the reset link sent to your registered email address.

# Upload Images

After entering the academic and personal details, applicants need to scan their photograph, signature, and their parent/guardian signature in jpg/jpeg format. Non-scanned images are not allowed, therefore first you have to scan these images and then upload them as per instructions on the official website of JEE Main.

Make sure that the size of the photograph should be greater than 4 kb and less than 40 kb, and the dimension must be 3.5 cm (width) x 4.5 cm (height).
The size of the signature should be 1 kb to 30 kb and the dimension must be 3.5 cm (width) x 1.5 cm (height).

# Fee Payment

After completing the above two stages, applicants have to pay a fee to complete the application procedure of the JEE (Main) Exam. You can pay either by debit/credit card or by bank (Syndicate/Canara/ICICI) e-challan system.

If the candidate is paying through debit/credit card then choose the debit/credit card option from the fee payment page and follow the instructions step by step. After paying the amount, applicants need to print the acknowledgment page and keep it safe for future reference.

If a candidate is using the bank e-challan option then s/he has to select a bank for depositing the amount. Continue with instructions, step by step, and print that e-challan slip and take it to the nearest branch of the selected bank and make payment. At last, take that acknowledgment slip from the bank and keep it safe for future use.
