Yes, you will get promoted to higher ranks Even if you were just matric passed, then also you would get promotion. But, a matric passed candidate can only become JCO and not a commissioned officer. Since you have a graduation degree, therefore, if you want you can apply for ACC to become a commissioned officer.

Once you get selcted as a recruit in army, then you get promotion on regualr basis after passing the exams that are held time to time in army for promotion. But this way the highest rank you will achieve is SM (subedar major). If you want to go for officer rank, then you will have to apply for ACC exams, and after clearing ACC, you will be recruited as lieutenant and then you can get higher ranks through promotion.
The process of ACC exam is same as NDA or CDS exams. i.e first written exam, then 5 day ssb.

The merit for soldier GD is always high, and one need to score really good to his name on that list. The negative marking for soldier GD is 0.25 i.e ½ mark is reduced for every wrong answer. so, think twice before attempting a question that you are not sure about.
As for how to attempt the paper, then before beginning to answer make sure you read the question paper carefully. Then attempt those questions first which you are confident to have the right answer ans so on.

For the post of soldier GD you must have SSLC / Matric pass with 45% marks in aggregate and 33% in each subject. No percentage considered in case candidate has passed with higher qualification ie 10+2 and above. As, you have mentioned that you have passed 10th class then with 45% then you are eligible for this post. Make sure you fit in the age limit criteria which is 17 and half to 21 years.

As, you have mentioned that you are pursuing diploma in mechanical engineering then you can apply for Soldier Technical (Aviation & Ammunition Examiner) post in India army. But the age limit criteria for this post is 17 and half to 23 years hence you will probably have only one chance to apply for this post. For most of the post in Indian army the maximum age limit is 23 years.

If you are 10th qualified then you can only apply for Soldier GD post Indian army. But make sure you fit in the age limit criteria which is 17 and half to 21 years. We would recommend you to continue your studies at present so that later on once you have passed the 12th class you can apply for post like clerk, tradesman etc.

And the eligibility criteria for this post is 10 +2 / Intermediate exam pass in Science with Physics, Chemistry, Maths and English with 50% marks in aggregate and 40% marks in each subject. OR Three years Diploma in Engg (Mechanical /Electrical/ Automobiles/ Computer Science Mechanical Engg and Electronic & Instrumentation Engg) from a recognized Polytechnic Institute.

Yes, of course you can become an officer after joining as clerk. Indian army gives opportunity to the serving soldiers who aspires to become an officer through ACC(army cadet college) Exam. The selection for admission to ACC is based on a written test and subsequent selection via service selection board.The nature of training at ACC is same as that of the NDA and ACC candidates complete there 3 years degree course while training. The age limit for this exam is 20-27 years with minimum two years of service. The education qualification required is 10+2 Pattern Class 12th pass or Equivalent. Should have qualified ACC written test.
Next you have PC(SL) Exam stands for Permanent Commission Special List, which is another type of entry similar to ACC entry with minor changes. The age limit criteria for this exam is maximum age 40 years, 45 years for Engineers & 45 years for IOB Minimum service 10 years and you must be Matric & above passed.
The last option is SCO(Special Commissioned Officer) exam. The age limit criteria for this exam is 28 to 35 years with minimum service of five years and qualification required is Matric with One Year Diploma or above. So, you have lot of opportunities. Make sure you fulfill all the eligibility criteria before you apply for any of these exams.

Indian army provide opportunity to the serving soldier to become an officer through ACC exam. The education qualification required for the ACC(Army Cadet College) exam is 10+2 Pattern Class 12th pass or Equivalent. The age limit for this exam is 20 to 27 years, along with minimum service two years can apply for it. Once you have cleared the written exam you will go through 4 years of training (Three Years in ACC Wing & One Year at IMA). The ACC Wing trains soldiers from the regular army for commission as Officers in the Indian Army. The ACC feeds into the Indian Military Academy Dehradun.

If you want to get directly in the officer rank, then you will have to go through NDA or CDS exam. And JCO/OR exams are much easier as compared to NDA and CDS.

you have already set your goals for future which is a great thing. Now, since you have time and passion as well, therefore i will suggest you to apply for NDA.
Let me tell you that NDA is not easy, so you will need prepare yourself in the best way. And i am not just talking in terms of studying, but in overall personality and mind development, because this is what is needed in SSB interviews. Search on web for how you can develop your mind in the best possible way.
You can also join Indian army through JCO/OR rallies that are held each year. You can go fro GD, clerk, technical or whatever trade you like.
I will suggest you to opt for PCM (or PCB if wish to join as nursing assistant) in your 11th and 12th class.

Hey Kiran, first of all if you are applying for soldier GD or tradesman, then you won’t need 12th mark sheet in bharti. Now, if you are applying for other posts, then i will suggest you to apply for a duplicate mark sheet. If you are taking xerox of mark sheet with you then it should be attested by your school principal or some equivalent or higher authority. And make sure you have at least 2 attested copies of each document.

The paper will be divided in 2 parts :- part 1 and part 2.
Part 1 will have objective type MCQ’s of general science worth 40 marks, Maths and computer science worth 60 marks.
Part 2 will have subjective type questions of English, like, grammar, comprehension etc.
You will need to score minimum 32 marks in each subject, and 80 marks on aggregate to get pass.
