How do I focus my mind on studies?

This is one big question that almost every student asks during exams. Try these tips and see if they work out for you or not.

Distraction-free environment

Firstly, when you are studying make sure that there is no one around you. Find a place that is totally separate and where you won’t find any distracting thing.

Stay away from your phone, tv, computer, or any other such things.

Rising early

Make a habit of rising early. Dawn time is considered the best time to study as the environment will be completely peaceful and you will be able to focus more. But don’t sit on the bed or another place which will make you feel sleepy. Students often try to study in their beds, but it will not help if you do it at dawn time.

Eat and sleep well

Not just in studies but you will have to be very disciplined with your eating and sleeping habits too. Try to avoid food that makes you lazy, ignore fast food as much as you can. Fast food creates a sense of irritation, and also it can cause health issues during your board exams which are not good for you.

So try eating healthy and light food. As for sleeping, it is very important to take a balanced sleep. Giving more than 7 hrs to sleep will definitely make you slow and lazy, while less sleep will put your mind in disease and your whole body will be stressed.

Therefore, it is very important that you take a good 6 to 7 hours of sleep. Also, you should try to go to bed early (somewhat around 10 to 10:30 pm, but not more than 11:00 pm) and rise early.

Try these tips for at least 15 days, you will see the difference.

Best way to attend a board Exam

Despite being well prepared, students often choke on exam day and hence end up scoring low. First of all, if you are well prepared then you should relax, there is no way you are going to fail.

Whenever you are nervous in exams, close your eyes take a few deep breaths, and imagine that you have got a good percentage. Just do whatever it takes to bring your mind to ease.

Once you are calm, take care of the following things:

  1. Keep all your important stuff like admit card, pen, pencil, etc. before the exam morning i.e at night. You do not want to run home to get your admit card while others are entering the exam hall.
  2. Reach the exam center 30 minutes before the actual time, if you sit in the exam hall in a rush then it will be difficult to calm down and this can prove deadly.
  3. When you get the paper, utilize 15 minutes that you get to read the paper very carefully. Go through the question paper with all your concentration. If possible, then try to keep your answer ready for the one marker in those 15 minutes. But do read the question paper first.
  4. Once you read the question paper then make a strategy of which questions to attempt first. Do not try to solve question paper serial no. wise, just attempt those questions first which you know you can answer very well.
  5. Draw line on both the side of the answer sheet, it will make your answers look long and will also maintain cleanliness.
  6. Try to keep your work tidy, good handwriting can help you score a few extra marks.
  7. Make sure you mark all the questions you know with a blue pen and once you write the answer to the question then mark them with a black pen. That said, use a black and blue pen to write your answers.
  8. Give your time to questions accordingly, you do not want to waste too much time on questions that hold fewer marks.
  9. Write your answers in points for long answer type questions, this will make the examiner look at all the important stuff, and ignore useless content.
  10. Once you are finished writing answers to all the questions that you know well, then don’t forget to go through your answer sheet at least once. It will help you find the errors and mistakes that you must have made while writing the answers. It happens when you are in flow, you make small mistakes that you do not see at that time.
  11. Now in the end, if you have time left then try to attempt the questions that you left, but make sure you do them at the end because if you do them in between then it can frustrate the examiner and give a bad impression which is definitely not what you want.
