Important tips for your own benefit

Students generally make some common mistakes which can prove to be very harmful from exam point of view. Below are things that you should always take care of.

Keep all your stuff ready for the exam one night before the exam e.g your pen, admit card, pencil etc. Do not rely on the last hour or you will have to suffer in the exam.

Make sure you have an extra pen as a backup, you do not want to waste time asking for a pen when others are doing their paper.

Please do read the question paper very carefully, do not be in a hurry to start the paper. Be very clear about the questions before you attempt them.

For rough use like calculations use the second last page. Keep the rough work separate so that you do not get confused. Please note that in accounts you may need to show some rough work, so take care of it too.

Always try to keep your writing and work neat and clean, not only it will help you earn some precious extra marks, but also it will help you see things clearly while calculating which is very time saving, and it creates a good image in examiners mind.

So make sure you do take care of these things. Hope you will score in 90’s, all the very best for your final exams.

  1. Really a good advice among all YouTube stuff but can I ask u some tips. I can’t control my mind and come in the mood of leisure. I have no consistency in accounts, please guide me sir/madam. I want to score in 90’s. you may also give tips about other subjects like economics and commerce.

    1. Prof. Rajeev Mehra

Hey Madhav, when you sit to study, try to stay away from things that distracts you like, phone, tv, computer etc. Controlling mind is not an easy thing and surely can not be done in one day, it will take time, but you should try. Set a reward system like, you will play your favorite game after you complete 1 topic or something like that. And try meditating for 10 to 15 minutes daily, it will help you a lot.

As for the accounts part, each chapter of accounts is related to the previous one. So, it’s very important to clear the basics first. Start from the scratch, don’t proceed unless all your doubts are clear about the current topics. If you think it is going to take time, then just pick those chapters which are easy and important from exam point of view.

Quality always wins over quantity, therefore, preparing only few chapters with full attention is lot better than covering the whole syllabus like just reading. And do practice sample papers and previous years paper. Finally the most important thing is revision, do time to time revision.
