CBSE Class 11th Chemistry Sample Papers 2022

Basically, the chemistry of class 11th includes many conceptual definitions, complicated chemical reactions, and equations, chemical-based numerical solving, and derivations also. That’s why at the first sight students find chemistry as a complex subject. They get worried about thinking that how to study chemistry. So in such a case, we suggest that the ideal way to overcome this problem is to first have a look at the latest syllabus, exam pattern, and the marking scheme of chemistry.

After that prepare chemistry from the examination point of view. Here the ‘Examination point of view’ means that one should have a clear image about those topics which had been asked many times in the past exams of chemistry and then do preparation accordingly. All these give enough idea regarding which topic is needed to give more focus and time for preparation and makes a student study in the right direction.

Class 11th Chemistry Sample Paper 2022

So if you are too a CBSE class 11th chemistry student and searching for trustful guidance for the ‘chemistry subject’ then here at 4ono.com we are available for you. Here we are providing you the best collection of the latest sample papers, syllabus, and marking scheme made for the CBSE class 11th chemistry subject. These are made in accordance with the strict guideline given by the CBSE for the current session 2020-21.

These sample papers are complete enough to train you with the essential knowledge and information required to build you a good score in the exams.

CBSE Class 11th Chemistry Syllabus

The CBSE class 11th syllabus of chemistry is classified into two sections i.e. ‘Theory’ and ‘Practical’.

Theory syllabus: The theory section of chemistry is all about the study of definitions, chemical reactions, numerical and derivational concepts. The theory syllabus consists of total 14 units starting with the first unit as ‘Some Basic Concept of Chemistry’ which includes those important topics that are compulsorily needed to understand the fundamental concepts of chemistry. And ends with the last unit as ‘Environmental Chemistry’ which involves the evolution of those scientific causes that are responsible for affecting the elements of nature.

The table given below is showing all the units with the no. of periods required to complete a unit.

Unit No. Unit Name No. of Periods

Per unit

1. Some Basic Concept of Chemistry 12
2. Structure of Atom 14
3. Classification of Elements and Periodicity in Properties 08
4. Chemical Bonding and Molecular Structure 14
5. States of Matter: Gases and Liquids 12
6. Chemical Thermodynamics 16
7. Equilibrium 14
8. Redox Reactions 06
9. Hydrogen 08
10. s-block Elements 10
11. Some p- block Elements 14
12. Organic Chemistry: Some Basic Principle and Techniques 14
13. Hydrocarbons 12
14. Environmental Chemistry 06

Practical Syllabus: While the practical includes performing of experimental activity, maintaining the class record of chemistry, project work and viva. The experimental activity includes determining the salt and volumetric properties of different matters. The class record and project work are also part of the practical syllabus. At last, a viva test regarding the knowledge of experimental and project work experience is taken.

CBSE 11th Class Chemistry Exam pattern:

Since class 11th Chemistry is divided into theory and a practical section. Therefore there are held two separate exam in chemistry i.e. ‘Theory Exam’ and ‘Practical Exam’.

Theory Exam: The theory exam is held for total 70 marks with a maximum time limit of 3 hours given to attempt it. The question paper of the theory exam consists of five types of questions.

  • 5 very short answer type Question(VSA) of one mark each.
  • 5 short answer-1 (SA-1) type question of 2 marks each.
  • 12 short answer-2(SA-2) type question of 3 marks each.
  • only 01 value-based Question of 4 marks, and
  • 03 Long answer(LA) type question of 5 marks each.

Practical Exam: The practical exam is held only for 30 marks in which a student is assessed on the basis of some given task like-

  • In the first task, a student goes on performing volumetric and salt analysis experiments. Here each experiment carries 08 marks.
  • The second task of the 06 marks is based on a content-based experiment.
  • The third task regarding project work carries 04 marks and the last test of viva carries 04 marks.

4ono Advice

First of all, make your basic chemical approach strong. Keep on regularly practicing chemical reactions, equations, formulas, and structures by writing down them on paper. Derivations are always important from the definition, formula, and numerical point of view. As derivations explain a definition in detail in the form of formulas and again those formulas are needed to solve the numerical. So make your derivational knowledge clear.

Whenever it comes to explain a definition in the exam don’t only just write down the definition there complete the definition along with relevant reactions, equations, formulas, structure or whatever is discussed in the definition.
