You need to plan your studies very carefully, the following tips will help you to do so:

How To Study

In geography, it’s hard to remember landmarks and locations, therefore, you can use different methods to remember them, like associating places with something interesting that you can recall easily.

Never try to mug up the whole answers as they are, this will only waste your time and will ditch you at the right time. Instead, you should try to remember only the main points of the answer.

Always try to make answers in your own language or words (do not convert important and technical words).

Do not forget to practice stuff like sample papers, model papers, and guess papers.

Try This One

Group study can prove to be very useful if you are bored with regular studies, but make sure you do not waste time calling it group study.

Be in the habit of practicing maps, on the exam day, it will help you a lot.

You must have a studying timetable if you are aiming for a high percentage, and you ought to divide your time very wisely.

Dedicate at least 1 hr to this subject daily.

On The Day Of Exam

  1. You should be calm and cool before you start to attempt the paper, you can close your eyes for 10 to 20 seconds and take a deep breath to relax.
  2. Once you have the question paper in your hand, read the whole paper very carefully.
  3. Mark those questions that you know very well.
  4. You can even categorize questions according to your knowledge. e.g if you know question x better than other questions, then you should solve question x first. To categorize, you can draw stars accordingly on questions.
  5. If you get sucked in any question then leave someplace for that question (you can even leave a page) but do not waste time on it. You can come back on it when you finish other questions.
  6. Try to keep your handwriting clean and tidy as this will help you to score a few extra marks.
  7. When you are done, then read your answer sheet, at least, one time to check if you have answered every question right.
  8. If you still got some time then you can lay your hands on the questions that you skipped or that you do not know.
  9. But make sure you do them in the end, as they must not frustrate the examiner.

Running Out Of Time

If you are running out of time and yet not prepared for the exam, then I will suggest you devote as much time as you can to your studies. Only prepare those units that you think you can easily learn. Also, do not try to cover the whole syllabus, doing this will only waste your time and will boggle your mind. So, try to keep it simple, and you will do just fine.
