Way to Practice ISC 12th sample papers of all subjects

If you have downloaded all the sample papers, then you should start practicing them. But before you begin with it, here are some tips that will help you to practice them in a much better and effective way.

# This Way or That

There can be many ways to solve a practice paper, e.g if you have completed your syllabus, and if you are confident that you can tackle all the questions, then you should assume the sample paper as your original final exam paper, and then start solving it. This way you will learn proper time management and techniques to write answers fast and effectively.

But if you are not done yet with your syllabus and still want to practice the sample papers, then you should pick only the questions related to the chapter or topic that you are currently preparing. This way you will know all the important questions and points that you need to focus on that particular topic.

# Do Your Research

Just solving the sample papers is not enough, you should also do some research on them. e.g you should note the format in which the questions are asked.

I read a topper’s interview in which he said that, while practicing the sample papers and previous years questions papers he noticed that some questions were asked in a fixed format, like in maths paper the question no. 4 was always from trigonometry.

So, this way he knew exactly how the question paper was going to be. You should also notice such things, they can be really very beneficial.

Also, while practicing the guess papers note the different ways in which the questions are asked. A question can be asked in many ways, therefore, you should try to anticipate maximum ways in which a question may come in exam.

# Just Like The Final Exam

Once you complete the syllabus, make sure that you solve at least two or three sample papers as if they are your final exam papers. It will give you the idea how much speed you should maintain in order to complete the question paper, and it will also improve your instincts to tackle an unknown problem in short time.

So these are some points that you should keep in mind while practicing the sample and model papers. I am sure you can discover much more if you use your brain more effectively.

Proper time management During exams

The 12th final exam time is the most crucial time in a student’s life, as this time decide the fate of a student, therefore, it is very important that you utilize this time very carefully.

Fortunately in 12th, students are given more gaps between exams as compared to other exams. take care of the following thing to use the gaps in the best way.

# Nothing New

Do not try to study and learn new topics or units during exam breaks, this will create confusion in the exam, and how come you are going to learn things in this short time that you haven’t learned the whole year anyway. Do only revision and make your points clearer.

# Your Family Crises

Stay away from family matters and other emotional matters, as they are deadly and can distract anyone. So keep yourself as far as you can from such matter. If you are having such troubles, then try to go to someone else’s places like your uncle, grandmother or even friend’s house until the exams are over.

# Eat Good & Sleep Well

Keep control on your eating and sleeping habits, try to eat light food and take an appropriate sleep.

Keep your mind fresh, don’t take the stress. Students often burden their minds during exam times, try to relax, do some exercises if needed.

How to get through the Judgement day?

The final exam day is nothing less than judgment day, especially to those who are scared of the final exams. But if you have worked hard the whole year, then you need not fare, just take care of the following things:

# Be On your Marks

First of all, you should check that you have all your stuff ready for the exam before leaving. You do not want to come back in a rush to get your admit card or something else, this will just add to your fear.

Reach the exam hall well before time, and try to find your exam room and seat as soon as possible.

Do not go for the last minute revision, and ask friends about the formulas and question or anything else, just don’t discuss anything, it will only confuse you. Believe in what you have studied and in yourself.

# The Papers Solving Strategy

Once you get the question paper read the whole paper at least once with all your focus.

Draw lines on both side of the answer sheet to make your work look tidy.

While answering the questions, make sure that your handwriting is clean.

If possible, then try to answer the question serial number wise, but this is not necessary (it’s totally optional) if you think you know some answers better, then attempt it first.

Do not waste time on the questions that are half known to you, you must first write the answers to the questions that you know very well and then go to the half-known questions.

Do not forget to go through your answer sheet at least once, so that you can omit the error in your answers.

So that’s all I have to say, for now, hope this article was helpful for you. Please feel free to comment if you have any suggestion, queries or complaints to make about this article.

All the best for exams.

  3. Sir my syllabus was not complete. so what i do for exam. I am commerce student please help me what should i study for exam?

    1. Hello Ekhlaque,
Like i suggest to all students before the exams, if time is less and syllabus is more, then you have to make a choice first. Either you just try to complete the whole syllabus first, or pick only some chapter or unit and prepare them in the best way. I will suggest the 2nd option, covering whole syllabus is surely not going to do much good.

Get yourself organized, make a time table and set deadline to complete a chapter. And make sure you know everything about that chapter before moving on to other. If you put in all your efforts and give more time to study, then you may still be able to cover the syllabus, but for that you must make a road map. Best of luck!

  4. Hi sir
I hate physics, and I forget all the derivations and formula of physics.
Please help me! How can I score good marks in physics, chemistry and mathematics?

    1. Hello Shashank,
To score good marks in physics, first you need to stop hating it. The more you hate it, the harder it will be to study it. For once, just think that physics is an easy subject and you like it, then begin your studies you will notice the difference. Preparing a road map i.e time table is the first thing that a student must do when exams are just few months away.

So, make a proper time table and decide a time limit for each chapter of each subject. Within that deadline you must complete it (including practice and revision).

    1. Prof. Rajeev Mehra

According to ISC rules, a student has to pass in the 4 or more subjects (including English). For more details type the following in the address bar of your browser : cisce.org/pdf/ISC-Class-XII-Syllabus-2014/2.%20ISC%20Syllabus%20Regulations.pdf.

  16. Sir , actually I am an ISC student. As we have to take top 4 subjects in our boards, I am sure I would get 95 above in those 4 but. Since I had already decided to drop maths, therefore, I didn’t pay attention to maths and I am scared what if I fail in it. So, can you please tell me what is the passing mark out of 100 in ISC board. And suppose if I fail in a subject which I am dropping, will it have an impact on my overall result?. Sir, I am so scared because it will mean that even after scoring good marks in top four sub, I will not be declared the topper, because of my fàilure to get 45 marks in maths. So, I wanted to confirm, what are the passing marks in ISC. please sir, help me regarding this.

    1. Prof. Rajeev Mehra

      Hi! Amisha,
As per ISC norms, the minimum passing percentage required in each subject is 40%.
This means out of 100, a student needs to score at least 40 marks to pass.
