English

Now, just because it is English does not mean that you can let your guard down. It may be an easy subject to pass, but trust me, it takes as many efforts as any other subject to score in 80’s and 90’s.

So, I suggest you do not take this subject lightly and start practicing it, though you can give less time to it compared to other subjects. But make sure you do prepare for this subject well.

First, let’s take a look at the exam pattern.

PAPER I: ENGLISH LANGUAGE – 80 marks

In this section, there will be four compulsory questions.

The 1st question will comprise of four or five topics, out of which you have to choose one, and are supposed to write the composition on it. Well, these choices entirely depend upon the mind of the examiner and of course on the present ideas.

In question no. 1, students will have to write a letter on one of the two topics given. It can either be a formal or informal letter.

The 3rd question is one among the most marks scoring questions. You will be given an unseen passage, reading which you will have to answer five questions, which will be based on the unseen passage. This question will test your ability that whether you are able to understand the odd text or not.

Question 4, There will be a set of short questions in this section to test your Grammar and Vocabulary. Fill in the blanks, Sentence Rearrangement, etc.

Internal assessment – 20 marks

In this section, you will be given marks on the basis of your listening, speaking and writing skills by your English teacher.

PAPER II: ENGLISH LITERATURE – 80 marks

Literature part as always will consist of questions from the different chapters of your English textbook. No question will be there out from the Prose and Poetry section.

Internal assessment – 20 marks

Your presentation in Project works and assignments will decide your marks in this section.

Hindi

Below is the paper pattern of Hindi, make sure you pay attention and then start you practice accordingly.

Section A: HINDI LANGUAGE – 40 marks

Just like the English Language, this paper is also divided into four sections. Or, you can say there will be four questions in this section.

The 1st question will be a composition in which student have to express his/her views on a particular topic chosen from the choices given.

In 2nd question, you will have to write a letter, it can be formal or informal.

An unseen passage of about 250 words will be given in the 3rd question to test the understanding power of the student.

The 4th question will be divided into sub-parts. There will be question answers, fill in the blanks from the Grammar portion which will test your Grammatical skills.

Your speaking and listening skills will be noticed in this section.

Section B: HINDI LITERATURE – 40 marks

In this section, questions will be asked from your textbook only. Your knowledge of Poetry and prose will be determined here.

Internal assessment – 20 marks

The project works and assignments will decide your marks in this section. Take care of the instructions given by your teacher.

Mathematics

In this subjects, it is suggested that you try to solve more and more sample papers, they will be useful to enhance your knowledge and confidence as well.

The paper of maths will comprise of 80 marks and there will be two sections.

SECTION I – 40 Marks

In this section, there will be short question answers which will be compulsory to attempt.

SECTION II – 40 Marks

This section comprises of 7 questions, out of which you have to attempt four questions.

Internal Assessment – 20 Marks 

These 20 marks are easiest to acquire, just based on your class performance. Do it well and 20 marks will be yours

  • Trigonometry
  • Statistics

HCG (History, Civics & Geography)

As you all know that there will be the combined exam of History, Civics and Geography as Social Science, and the paper will be divided into two parts.

Part I – 30 marks

This part will consist the short questions covering the whole syllabus and you have to attempt them all.

Part II – 50 Marks

This part is further divided into two sections.
In Section A, you have to attempt 2 out of 3 questions, and in section B, you have to attempt 4 out of 5 questions.

Internal Assessment – 20 Marks

This section will test your reading and writing skills on the basis of project work and class presentation.

Section I – 40 Marks

Economics

The written paper of this subject will carry 80 marks divided into two sections.

Section I – 20 Marks

This section consists of all compulsory short answer questions covering the entire syllabus. This will obviously test your basic concepts and knowledge about the chapters.

Section II – 60 Marks

The long answer questions will be given in this portion, and students will be expected to answer 4 questions out of the choices given.

Internal Assessment – 20 Marks

As per the prescription of a teacher, generally 3 assignments are given on this subject and on that basis marks will be given to you.

Poverty and Unemployment: – Meaning of Unemployment, Causes nature and measures to check the poverty and unemployment.

Improvement in Human Capital- Health and  Education: – Advantages and disadvantages of a large population, improvement of capital, etc.

Arts

There are four papers of Arts out of which two are compulsory for the Students.

PAPER I – 100 marks: Drawing and/or Painting from Still life

A group of objects which will be artificial or natural, flower, vase, artificial objects, etc.

PAPER II – 100 marks: Drawing and/or Painting from Nature

This paper is divided into two sections. In both the sections, a student is expected to make things taken from nature. Either decorative or realistic.

PAPER III – 100 marks: Original Imaginative Composition in colour

Sketches and drawings will be there in this section. Just before the 7 days of the examination, a list of choices would be given to you and all you have to do is to work on them.

PAPER IV – 100 marks: Applied Art

This section is to check the ability of student in craft work. The choices of questions would be given, out of which students have to answer one.

Arts is the only subject where your creativity matters the most. The more you practice, the more you will get creative.

And start from Main topics then hard topics and at the end easy topics. Cover all these topics. Also, try to solve examples also. Remember practice is directly proportional to great marks.     #1 is it possible to have electromagnetic waves of shorter wavelength compared to other waves in a beam of the same category of electromagnetic waves.
    #2 The wavelength of x rays ranges from 0.01nm – 1.0nm according to the wavelength table provided.
    But in the explanatory column of x rays it is mentioned that it has a wavelength ranging from 0.01nm -10nm.
    [i am conscious about the units]. So which from the above two should I follow???

      First of all don’t let this thought come into your mind that you are weak in any subject. Just be dedicated towards your studies and work hard. For maths and physics study from NCERT books and practice as much as you can. Clear all the basic things. Keep all the formulas on your tips.       Yes, practicing from previous year paper are always helpful. Once you start practicing from these papers you get the idea of important questions. Not much time is left for exam so, focus on those chapters in which you are confident. Not every year questions are repeated but there are chances. You might not find the exact questions but the concept is same.
