Border Security Force (BSF) is providing plentiful opportunities like Constable (GD), Head Constable, Sub Inspector (SI), Assistant Commandant (AC), etc for our youngsters. # Exam Syllabus & Best Books For Constable (GD)

Constable general duty (GD) is a rank that comes under central police armed forces (CAPF) and it’s exam is conducted by staff selection commission (SSC) every year. In Constable exam, there is only one objective/multiple choice paper, and has no negative marking for wrong answers.

  • General Awareness and General Knowledge: General awareness test the knowledge of present happenings around the world like Events, Prizes, Sports, Books, Places in News, etc.In General Knowledge, the topic comes from History of India, Geography of World, Polity, Indian Constitutions, Art & Cultures, etc.
  • Elementary Mathematics: In this section, questions will be asked to check the knowledge of Elementary Mathematics and will be based on syllabus of class 6th to 12th. Topics like Algebra, Geometry, Mensuration, etc are covered under elementary mathematics. One should know the basic knowledge of Maths and should have good command on calculation.
  • Analytical Aptitude: In this section, candidates should have the ability to observe things and good judgemental skills. Topics covered in this section are Coding-Decoding, Analogies, Blood Relations, Similarities and Differences, etc.
  • English or Hindi: Candidates will be judged by their basic knowledge and understanding of English and Hindi.

  • General Intelligence and Reasoning: In this section, questions are asked from both verbal and non-verbal reasoning. Topics include analogies, number series, decision making, judgement, coding-decoding, critical thinking, Symbolic/number classification, etc.
  • General Awareness and General Knowledge:  In this section questions are asked from current affairs like recent places visited by important personalities (specially), sports, books & awards, etc.
    Historical Knowledge: History of India, Indian Constitution, Arts, Culture, World Geography, Scientific Research, etc.
  • Quantitative Aptitude: This section is organized to test candidates aptitude skills. The topic includes Algebra, Geometry, Trigonometry, Mensuration, Bar diagram, Pie Charts, etc.
  • English Comprehension: This Section would take test of Candidates ability to understand English, writing skills, comprehension, etc.

Assistant Commandant is a Group-A Gazetted Officer exam of BSF and is directly appointed by Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) recruiting process. It is the most popular exam among aspirants and very tough exam as compare to other BSF exams. So, candidates need to put in a lot more hard work to achieve this post. Here is the list of syllabus:

    • Part A (80 Marks): Essay questions are asked and candidates should write the answers either in Hindi or English. The topics of essay can be anything like Human Rights Issues, Modern Indian History, Geography, Indian Polity and Economy, etc.
    • Part B (120 Marks): Questions will be from Comprehension, Precis Writing and other language skills but answers must be given in English only.
