Background of Anand Kumar: Inspiration for Super 30

Anand Kumar was originally a Mathematician whose Mathematical articles and thesis appeared in various eminent national as well as international journals. He himself was compelled to live a very poor life because he was from a very downtrodden and underprivileged family. He also received admission to Cambridge University, but he could not go to pursue study over there at that point in time.

The reason was he became a victim of his poor financial condition since his father passed away at that time. He had to teach Mathematics to the students during his daytime and he had to sell papads during the evening and night time.On weekends, he used to visit the Central Library at Benaras Hindu University and again on Monday, he used to go back to Patna again.

About Super 30: Establishment and Start-Up Days

Anand Kumar started his own classroom by paying an amount of INR 500/- per month in the year of 1992. That classroom became Ramanujan School of Mathematics after many years. When he started his tuition, only two poor kids came first to get his lessons.

Within one year, the number of students in RMS grew to thirty-six, and within completion of three years, more than five hundred students enrolled for his institution.

One of his most meritorious students named Abhayanand grew up to become an IPS Officer. Anand Kumar along with Abhayanand started an unconventional tuition center named “Super 30” after aggregating thirty talented underprivileged kids who had a dream to make into IITs someday or the other.

It was initiated under the banner of Ramanujan School of Mathematics. He never charged any money for providing tuition to these poor kids.

Eventually, all of those 30 students qualified IIT JEE exam and went on to study into different IITs across the country. His institution Super 30 became so popular among downtrodden kids that they started preparing for IIT JEE Mains and IIT JEE Advanced exams with the help of Anand Kumar’s coaching institute.

Even now, all the qualified poor students receive a rapturous welcome in this institution with free lodging, free boarding, free meals and free tuition for IIT JEE Mains and Advanced exams. Their eligibility test is held in the month of May and June every year.

His philanthropic angle of contributing to the society is well appreciated by all the citizens of India. The Bihar Government has awarded him with “Maulana Abul Kalam Azad Shiksha Purashkar” in 2010 for his immense contribution in this country’s educational domain.

Even he has had a talk with the network operators for free streaming of his video lessons so that people with very slow Internet speed can also watch his videos without getting succumbed to be the victim of slow buffering.

The strategy of Anand Kumar for Getting Success at IIT JEE Exam

Tip# 1: They treat everyone equally without giving anyone more priority than the other one. So there, everyone helps the other ones with his or her own capability. That is the main strategy which is followed by Super 30. Each one should equally capable to one another, and no matter in which subject he or she is good at, he or she has the responsibility to help the others by contributing to the other poor students’ lives.

Tip# 2: Perseverance is more important than anything else while focussing on a single pointed goal. Positive approach towards cracking IIT JEE exam coupled with hard work and dedication make one more successful in life in all aspects. Most of the students qualify 12th Board exam very easily, but it becomes quite difficult to crack JEE Mains and Advanced if they plan for last minute study. But there are many who follow a good strategy to crack JEE with 12th Board Exams too.

So, focused goals and dedication are necessary. Some students lose multiple years after passing class 12th board exam because they cannot cope with the pressures of tackling both IIT JEE exam and 12th exam together. More than one attempts do mean multiple year loss in the students’ career which gives the negative impression in their resume.

Tip# 3: Instead of rote learning, getting the key concepts are more important. Entire syllabus for Mathematics, Physics, and Chemistry is suggested to be completed in the first year i.e. in class XI itself. Afterward, in class XII, they are suggested to concentrate more on problem-solving.

Multi-tasking helps a lot to all the students who are recommended not to go through the theoretical parts of Physics and Chemistry but also solving varieties of numerical problems.

Tip# 4: The students should discard the idea of selective learning because it is not going to help in securing good score or ranking in the IIT JEE exam. In class XI, the students are advised to read thoroughly the Concepts of Physics by H. C. Verma. Going through the NCERT Physics book thoroughly is also advised by Super 30. For a better understanding, the students should take the help of the physics book written by Resnick and Halliday.

For Chemistry, the students are required to go through the entire NCERT book for both Inorganic Chemistry as well as for Organic Chemistry, as suggested by Super 30. Apart from this, for Inorganic Chemistry, the book by J. D. Lee is to be read thoroughly, and for Organic Chemistry, the book by Morrison and Boyd is to be gone through line by line.

In the latter part, another book named Numerical Chemistry by P. Bahadur should also be consulted. After completion of 12th Board exam successfully, the students remain quite relaxed.

At that time, they are advised to go through Arihant Publisher’s IIT JEE preparatory books. For Mathematics, during class XI, for preliminary preparation of Mathematics, solving the NCERT books for Algebra, Differential Calculus, Integral Calculus, Trigonometry and Co-Ordinate Geometry are required. Solving problems from NCERT books, Higher Algebra by Hall and Knight, Single Variate Calculus by I. A. Maron, Geometry and Trigonometry by S. L. Loney are also suggested by Super 30.

In class XII, for starting JEE Mains exam preparation, IIT Mathematics by M. L. Khanna and Objective Mathematics by R. D. Sharma are followed by Super 30.

Tip# 5: Regularity, consistency, time management, and stress management are important for taking IIT JEE Mains and Advanced. As suggested by Super 30, taking mock papers and availing help from “AskIITians” online group is also recommendable for good results in IIT JEE exam. Taking a number of test papers in March after 12th Board exam will make the aspirants perfectly fit for getting success in IIT JEE exam.

Hence, the students should take a couple of full mock test papers from the original website of IIT JEE to get an idea of their standard just before appearing for the actual IIT JEE Mains exam.
