Brief Intro About IIT

JEE Mains is the main entrance exam that generally happens in the April to May month of every year through online and pen and paper options. The date declared for the pen and paper mode for the year 2018 is 8th of April 2018, while the online paper mode will be taken on 15th and 16th of April, 2018.

There will be around 90 objective type questions asked to form the main subjects for the students who have passed their intermediate examination with Mathematics, i.e. Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics. Around 30 questions are asked from every subject and the students will have around 3 hours for the total 90 questions, i.e. around an hour to solve the questions of every subject.

Remember that there is a negative marking for incorrect answers and around -1 marks will be deducted in case of ticking wrong options. Many students have wrong notions about JEE Mains that it is almost impossible for an average student, but this is not true, and any student can easily pass this entrance test by making themselves acquainted with the main concepts of all subjects.

Once the students pass the JEE Mains with good cut off marks, then they must appear for the JEE Advanced for getting the admission in the reputed IIT’s. There are generally 54 questions asked from the main subjects PCM of the intermediate. Some of these questions will have one or more correct options and some will have only single correct option answer.

There will be negative marking for the incorrect answer depending upon the type of question. For example, -2 will be deducted for wrong answers in multiple options, and -1 having a single correct option. There are around 2 papers in the JEE Advanced, and the students must give both papers to get admission in the IIT’s.
