List of IIT JEE Toppers from the Last 13 Years

IIT JEE is the toughest examination conducted for admission into premier Indian engineering institutes. Students who qualify JEE Mains but fail JEE Advanced are eligible to join National Institute of Technology and Central Funded Technical Institutes. Conversely, students who qualify both exams can join any of the 23 Indian Institutes of Technology. IIT aspirants who ace this examination become overnight celebrities and a source of inspiration for future applicants. 2020 – Chirag Falor

There are very few people like Chirag Falor who want to crack JEE not to qualify for some engineering institute, but to test his capabilities. This guy had already topped JJE mains earlier and got enrolled in MIT. He kept on taking his classes in MIT online while preparing for JEE advance.

2019 – Kartikey Gupta

Kartikey Gupta lives in Ballarpur, Maharashtra. He scored 346 marks out of the 372 in JEE advance. While sharing his mantra for success he mentioned one thing very clearly that he did not let social media and his phone come in his way to reach this position.

He said that his parents were ready to provide him a smartphone, but determent Kartikey said no to this temptation and stood to his hard work and dedication. He had scored 93.7% in class 12th.

2018 – Pranav Goyal

Pranav Goyal is the resident of Haryana’s Panchkula. He scored 337 marks out of 360 marks. Though he never thought he will top the IIT JEE, but still he had it clear on his mind that he want’s to see his name at least in top 10 and hence prepared accordingly.

Not only in IIT JEE, he scored an impressive 97.2% in class 12th. The main reason behind Pranav’s enormous success was hi crystel clear vision to see himself among the top 10, and this is why he was able to top the list. This is why one should always aim for big and then put as much efforts as required.

2017 – Sarvesh Mehtani

A resident of Chandigarh, Sarvesh Mehtani ranked 1st in JEE Advanced 2017 with a total score of 399. Sarvesh started preparing for JEE while in class X and enrolled in Lakshya Coaching Institute a year later. At this point, he began studying 5-6 hours each day until completion of syllabus.

During revision, he focused on both JEE Mains and Advanced studying 10-12 hours each day, with proper breaks and ample sleep. Sarvesh answered a complete mock test every 2-3 days since he deemed it necessary to understand which ideas and concepts were more important.

2016 – Aman Bansal

Aman Bansal ranked first in JEE Advanced 2016, with a score of 320 out of 372. Son of an engineer and homemaker, Aman initially studied 5 hours a day and gradually went up to 9. He started preparing from class XI and enrolled in Kota’s Allen Career Institute for coaching.

According to Aman’s IIT JEE success strategy, one must not feel pressured and maintain a healthy competitive spirit. Additionally, one must follow teachers’ directions and suggestions, read recommended books, and actively participate in group discussions.

2015 – Satvat Jagwani

The older son of a doctor couple, Satvat Jagwani, obtained AIR 1 in JEE Advanced 2015 by scoring 469 out of 504. Satvat, a resident of Satna, MP, joined coaching classes and for two years effectively utilized 5-6 hours every day for self-study.

He believed he could top since he studied diligently for two years under expert guidance and by himself. Satvat added that it is necessary for a student to enjoy subjects and studying as a whole in order to succeed.

2014 – Chitraang Murdia

Chitraang Murdia, son of an IIT Delhi alumnus scored 334 out of 360 and earned AIR 1 in JEE Advanced 2014. A resident of Udaipur, Chitraang attributes his achievements to focused and determined hard work. His curiosity for exploring fundamental concepts assisted in the preparation of JEE Mains and Advanced. Chitraang would study in slots of three hours, to train his brain to remain focused for that duration, since exam duration is three hours.

2013 – Pallerla Sai Sandeep Reddy

  1. Sai Sandeep Reddy, a resident of Andhra Pradesh, acquired 332 marks out of 360 and bagged AIR 1 in JEE Advanced 2013. Sandeep focused on JEE preparation since class VII, therefore, drafted a strict study plan and implemented it diligently. According to him, one must focus for 60 minutes at a time and then take a short break. He shared that when preparing for JEE Mains and Advanced time management is of utmost importance and time must be divided based on one’s strengths and weaknesses.

2012 – Arpit Agarwal

A resident of Faridabad, Arpit Agarwal, obtained AIR 1 in JEE 2012. Two years of coaching and well-organized self-study schedules helped him achieve his goal. Arpit opined that short frequent breaks are necessary for decompressing when preparing for any competitive exam. Meticulous hard work and proper time management were key points in his success strategy. He added that two years is sufficient time for JEE preparation when one focuses on their interests and goals.

2011 – Immadi Prudhvi Tej

In 2011, at age 17 I. Prudhvi Tej was named JEE topper. After results were announced he revealed his secret to success. Prudhvi enjoyed the preparation and did it without stressing since stress could hamper his chances of succeeding.

In fact, he would study for 10 hours, sleep for 8, and unwind playing badminton or watching cricket matches. He further added that one must stick to a proper plan and work hard when preparing for examinations.

2010 – Anumula Jithendar Reddy

Anumula Jithendar Reddy, IIT JEE 2010 topper, is the son of an NIT professor and a government school teacher. Even as a child he was interested in competitive exams, so he focused on JEE, which is the most obvious choice. Jithendar opined that competitive exams, especially JEE isn’t exceptionally hard to qualify if one attempts with a relaxed and open mind, which drastically improves chances of success.

2009 – Nitin Jain

17-year-old Nitin Jain was one of the few toppers, who achieved AIR 1 in both IIT JEE and AIEEE. In order to ace competitive exams, Nitin followed a simple strategy which involved studying sincerely and regularly, focusing on all topics, and following a timetable. Nitin remained calm at all times, continuously analyzed his strengths and weaknesses, and worked on them accordingly.

2008 – Shitikanth Kashyap

JEE 2008 topper Shitikanth Kashyap attended coaching classes, wherein the received the guidance necessary for success. Even if one isn’t able to attend coaching classes it is possible to crack JEE exams when the time is utilized effectively, explained Shitikanth. He further added that creating a thorough plan encompassing the entire syllabus and allotting ample time for revision is a must.

2007 – Achin Bansal

Achin Bansal bagged IIT JEE 2007 AIR 1 through sincere hard work and concentrated efforts. Practicing without worrying and studying to learn and understand concepts helped Achin ace said exam. He aimed to obtain a rank in top 20, hence with proper planning studied diligently for 8-10 hours each day. His goal oriented hard work helped him rank first.

2006 – Raghu Mahajan

JEE 2006 topper Raghu Mahajan believes he prepared just like other aspirants but achieved the 1st rank owing to a different mindset. Raghu’s success strategy focused on gaining basic knowledge from reputed books, applying knowledge gained to solve questions and practicing regularly.

He considered this examination as an opportunity to display one’s excellence, rather than a means of judging oneself. Raghu elaborated that solutions to questions must not be perused frantically since exploring them with a calm mind assists in understanding the science behind them.

2005 – Piyush Srivastava

Piyush Srivastava JEE 2005 topper is also known for scoring highest in ISC and bagging AIR 1 in AIEEE. He chose to understand concepts practically as opposed to just memorizing them. Piyush’s primary goal was cracking JEE with a good rank, however, through sincere effort and proper planning he managed to achieve numerous laurels. He won a gold medal in International Physics Olympiad and obtained 2nd rank in UP-CET.

  1. In 4th line of chirag falor there is a little mistake, its JEE mains not (JJE mains).
