Biology Previous Years Papers – Tips

The first thing you should know is that you have to be very disciplined and sincere towards your studies if you are planning to hit that mark of 90. Secondly, never ever compromise with your studies, the more you will compromise, the more it will be harder to score good marks.

Check how strict is CBSE evaluation process or we can say copy checking pattern of CBSE.

And if you opt for a casual approach to your studies, then there is no way you can get a prestigious percentage. So study smart and try to restrict your temptations if you desire to achieve your goal.

Plan your studying strategies according to the weightage. i.e give more time to those topics and lessons which hold more marks. Following is the 12th weightage table for you:

 Chapters  Marks
Reproduction  14
Genetics and Evolution  18
Biology and Human Welfare  14
Biotechnology and its Applications  10
Ecology and Environment  14

Below are the technical tips that will help you to score good marks in biology.

Separate Notebook

Try to make notes of your own instead of learning those of your teachers and others.

One of the best ways to prepare for the biology exam is that you make a separate notebook in which you note down all the important topics and some important points related to it. e.g if you are preparing for reproduction then you should divide all the topics that have the most chances of coming to the board exam.
Then you note one line or one main keyword that would bring the definition of that topic to your mind (of course if you had read it before). Make sure the definitions you make are not too long.

Diagrams To Understand

Another efficient way of studying biology is trying to understand things via diagrams. As they say, a picture can speak a thousand words without even producing a single sound. The same is the case with biology, if there is something that you are not able to understand by words or definitions then it is possible that you can understand it just by looking at the diagram. So try to understand things by drawing figures or diagrams.

Also, if you are in the habit of drawing diagrams then it will help you in an exam to score good marks, as drawing figures along with definitions will boost your chances to score maximum marks in that particular question.

Group Study

If you are too tired or bored with the regular studies, or if you need something different, then you can plan a study night with your friends. Tell them to gather at one place for a night and do the group study. It is proven that group studies do help students to understand things more clearly, but make sure you don’t take the overdose of fun, and remember the purpose of your gathering.

Revision Is Important

Students often get confused when it comes to revision. Revision means to take a quick look at the topics that are clear to you, and which needs not much time to invest. If it is taking you too long to go through a particular topic, then it means that it is not clear to you yet, and you need to study it again.

Try to go through all the topics you have already prepared from time to time, as biology is a complex and confusing subject, therefore, it needs continuous reading. Hence, make sure that you are in touch with all the topics you know.

Question Paper And NCERT

Make sure that you check all the question papers that you have downloaded from here and do your research. Point out the questions that are common in all the question papers and prepare them well.

Before you jump to any other books for more practice, make sure you cover the NCERT book properly, as it is said that most of the questions of the CBSE board exams are asked from NCERT. So practice the NCERT book first and then move to other books.

Keep It Simple

Finally, if due to some reason you could not study the whole syllabus, then do not make worthless attempts to cover the whole syllabus at the end time, as it will do no good to you. Neither it will help you in your exams nor you will be able to inherit proper knowledge, in short, you can not bring anything good out of it. Instead, you ought to try to prepare all those topics well which you already know.

Always remember that It’s only knowledge that will be with you till the end, and not the marks that you will score. Therefore, it is more important to look for knowledge rather than marks.

With knowledge, not only you will score good marks but you will also secure your future. All the very best for your exams.
